Stranger Than Fiction

Several years ago, while surf/stumbling through the Interwebs, I happened upon a curious site which hosts the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest.l .

The Bulwer-Lytton contest was begun in 1982 by the English department at San Jose State University in California. The contest is unusual in that it challenges writers to create the opening sentence of what would be the world’s worst novel.

re at PigWorks, we work with creative professionals located all over the globe. As a result, we have developed and adopted several collaborative tools to allow seamless interaction amongst our creative contributors.

Although our own in-house project management system (Wingnaut) allows us to track progress, budgets, timelines, and person-hours on a per-project basis, we lacked an integrated solution to allow communication and collaboration between our various team members and clients in a real-time environment. .

Why We Love Social Movements

Social movements are normally described as large groups of individuals, with specific social or political views, hoping to carry out some type of societal change.

Although this model still holds true, today’s social movements are much more informal, fluid and dynamic than in years past. The social movement groups themselves also tend to be smaller in number, but the individuals participating are more personally and deeply involved in the cause.
